All trims with the new Chevrolet Impala are equipped with front-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission with manual-mode, giving you more control on the road. The LS and LT trims get an ECOTEC 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine putting out 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque at a great 10.9L/100km city and 7.9L/100km highway fuel efficiency. The Premier trim level receive a powerful 3.6-L V6 pushing 305 hp and 264 lb.-ft. of torque for that added sense of confidence we were talking about. With fuel efficiency of 12.5L/100km city and 8.3L/100km you get more power with less.
Standard safety features abound with traction and stability control, antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and front knee airbags, along with the OnStar service with remote door unlock, automatic crash notification, an emergency assistance button, and stolen vehicle assistance.
The LT trim enjoys an optional rear-view camera and rear parking sensors, while the Premier enjoys the added benefits of blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and forward collision warning. For those who worry about parking and those tight spots, the Premier comes with Rear park assist.
The 2017 Chevrolet Impala has received government crash testing ratings beating the competition, with a perfect five stars for overall crash protection. The IIHS has awarded the Impala with its best rating too along with a rating of “Superior” for the Premiers optional frontal collision warning and automatic braking systems.
